Join us on Wednesday 31st January for a super special panel talk all about maternal mental health.
Self-care is more than a buzzword; it’s a key part of the Selfish Mother ethos. Recognising and tending to your own needs is SO important when your family is relying on you…but it’s also bloody difficult.
Whatever stage of motherhood you’re at, you’ll be contending with hormones, loneliness, busy schedules, less sleep, physical changes, outside pressures, lifestyle shifts and that constant nagging sense of guilt. Yes, being a mother is amazing, but it can take its toll…
So, how can mamas keep their shit together? Are there trigger signs to look out for when it comes to our mental health, and what can we do to stay in good mental shape?
Mental health campaigners Bryony Gordon, Jo Love and Amy Ransom will be discussing this in a panel talk at The FMLY Store, Bruton with our very own Molly Gunn.
Meet the panellists:
Bryony @bryonygordon is a best-selling author and Telegraph columnist, whose latest book Mad Girl explores her relationship with OCD and depression, through candid honesty and dark humour. Her brilliant mental health podcast, Mad World, has welcomed guests ranging from Prince Harry to The Unmumsy Mum.
Jo @lobellaloves is founder of Lobella Loves online marketplace, winner of the Smallish Parenting Ambassador Award 2017 for its support of maternal mental health. Jo is opening up the conversation about post-natal depression through events and campaigns, including #depressionwearslippy on last year’s World Mental Health Day.
Amy @survivingmotherhood_ is author of The New Mum’s Notebook (available HERE) – a journal supporting new mums through that tough first year of motherhood, offering articles, affirmations and space to write. Amy has created a supportive social media community and spoken openly about her own experiences, recently becoming a solo mum of three.
We can’t wait to see you on the 31st. Come by yourself or bring a friend – everyone’s welcome!
Spaces are limited so book yours asap…
