Join us and Elle Wright for an intimate conversation on baby loss and how we can support those who have experienced it – whether that’s ourselves or our loved ones.
With 1 in 4 pregnancies in the UK ending in premature death, this is an issue that unfortunately affects so many families – and is something we need to talk about. We’ll explore how it feels to navigate this heartbreaking side of motherhood, how she has learned to live with loss, and how to be there for someone experiencing the loss of their baby.
Mother, wife, blogger, author and all-round wonder woman Elle – aka @feathering_the_empty_nest talks openly about her pregnancy and son Teddy on her blog, Instagram, and in her new book, Ask Me His Name. She’ll share these insights with us and read aloud some extracts from her moving account.
Not only has Elle helped raise awareness of baby loss issues, her #TeddysLegacy campaign raises thousands of pounds for the Little Roo Fund at Ashford & St Peter’s hospital in Chertsey, helping to improve facilities and training in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit.
She says: “When I found myself experiencing a motherhood that I never expected, one that I was terrified of living, I didn’t know how I would carry on being ‘normal’. I didn’t know how much I would long for people to say my son Teddy’s name, to not treat him like he didn’t exist.”
